Light Spring

Light Spring is the colour season of people with warm, very light colouring and little contrast between skin, hair and eyes. Light colours with a golden base suit them: peach, soft coral, ivory and aquamarine.

  • Temperature: warm
  • Depth: light
  • Intensity: medium

How to tell if you are a Light Spring

  • Skin: Fair, with a golden or peachy undertone; blushes easily and often has light freckles.
  • Hair: Golden blonde, honey blonde or very light brown with warm highlights.
  • Eyes: Light blue, aqua green or light hazel.

Your palette

Colours to stand out

  • Soft Coral (#F4A57A)
  • Butter Yellow (#F9E296)
  • Golden Beige (#E0B97A)
  • Ink Navy (#243A55)
  • Espresso (#241B14)
  • Earth Brown (#623E24)

Wardrobe neutrals

  • Peach Cream (#FDCA88)
  • Warm Ivory (#FFF9F0)
  • Light Aqua (#A8D8D8)
  • Blush Pink (#F2B8B0)
  • Warm Mint (#B8DCC8)
  • Mid Grey (#9C948A)

Colours best avoided

  • Black: Its depth drains your face instead of framing it.
  • Charcoal Grey: Dark and cool at once, it dims your lightness.
  • Cool Plum: Deep and cool-based: two things your lightness can't carry.

Metals: best in light gold and rose gold; less so in cool silver and black.

How to build your wardrobe

Swap black for ink navy or coffee brown as your dark colour, and optical white for ivory. Light neutrals (golden beige, cream) are your base, and standout colours (coral, butter yellow) work best near your face.

Seasons it is often confused with

  • Light Summer: Light Summer is just as light but cool: powder pink and sky blue instead of peach and coral.
  • True Spring: True Spring can take brighter colours and a little more depth.
