Bright Spring
Also called Clear Spring.
Bright Spring is the high-contrast season with clean colours and a warm touch. Intense, clear shades suit it, like bright coral, electric turquoise and lime green, while dusty colours wash it out.
- Temperature: warm-neutral
- Depth: medium
- Intensity: high
How to tell if you are a Bright Spring
- Skin: Fair or medium, luminous, with a neutral or slightly warm undertone.
- Hair: Medium or dark brown, sometimes with warm highlights; it contrasts with the skin.
- Eyes: Very clear and bright: intense blue, green, turquoise or vivid brown.

Colours best avoided
- Dusty Pale Pink: So toned down it looks like dust next to you.
- Ash Mauve: Cool and flat, it wipes out the contrast that defines you.
- Steel Blue: Cool and hazy, it dulls the clean edge that defines you.
Metals: best in gold and polished gold; less so in matte silver.
How to build your wardrobe
It can handle contrast: clean white with navy, or one bright colour with a dark neutral. Faded pastels and greyish beiges don't work.
Seasons it is often confused with
- Bright Winter: Bright Winter is just as intense but cool: fuchsia and electric blue instead of coral and turquoise.
- True Spring: True Spring is warmer and has less contrast.
